Kirkcudbright Running Club

Kirkcudbright Running Club was founded just over two years ago but has gone from strength to strength. There are now over 100 members and a typical turn-out is around 40 or 50 runners at each of the training sessions. The club caters for runners of all abilities and meets twice a week on Monday and Thursday evenings. In the winter months, most of the sessions are held in and around Kirkcudbright but when the longer evenings come around after Easter there are opportunities to run around some of the country roads and trails. The picture below is from one of the first country runs of the year, along the coast through Senwick Woods.

  1. Morning
I hope the Easter weekend weather provided good practise conditions for the Kirkcudbright Half Marathon!! (25th May 2019)

We have lost our Sea Cadet posse who normally marshall the Half Marathon at Twynholm this year ( new legislation apparently barring use of U16’s in uniform from officiating in any capacity at a public event-) so I wondered if any of your members who wont be participating in the races on the 25th ( HM, new 10km run, Walk and Fun Run) might be interested in volunteering to marshall the route. Please contact me asap. Thankyou
